Core functions of the Legal Department

The Legal Department provides general legal support to the Mulilo Group as the project interface, responsible for coordinating research and studies, site identification, permitting and environmental impact assessments, regulatory requirements, ensuring the submission of compliant bids and financially closing successful projects under the auspices of the Department of Energy (in the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programmes), similar programmes internationally and private programmes.

The Legal Department is involved in the assessment, mitigation and managment of legal risk.

As part of its daily responsibilities, the Legal Department is involved in the assessment, mitigation and management of legal risk in respect of a spectrum of legal issues and challenges within the energy sector. These responsibilities include project development and financing, the negotiation of power purchase agreements, acquisition of project facilities, equipment, construction and procurement agreements and all related commercial and regulatory documentation.
